HEALTH SCIENCES EDUCATOR

Northern Cass Public School District is seeking a full-time Health Sciences educator. The new hire will be starting the program and can set a path towards greatness! Applicants must have a bachelor's degree, hold a valid teacher's license in the appropriate field, or be able to obtain a license.  Northern Cass is a progressive Class 'B' school with approximately 730 learners in PK-12 located just north of Fargo.  We are a personalized competency-based learning district. SUMMARY:

The Health Sciences teacher provides students with academic skills and practical hands-on experiences in Career Clusters pathways related to Diagnostic Services, Health Informatics, Therapeutic Services, Biotechnology Research, and Human Resources. The Program of Study includes classroom and lab instruction related to curriculum in Health Sciences I, Health Sciences II, Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries, Certified Nursing Assistant, and Principles of Biomedical. Course content may lead to marketable job skills or post-secondary training in medically related career fields. The teacher will work together with current health science teachers, in their respective building and across districts, to implement established course curriculum aligned to ND CTE Standards, district strategic goals, and industry related skills.

HOSA Future Health Professionals (CTSO) ADVISORSHIP

Leadership through co-curricular Career and Technical Student Organization is an integral part of the Health Science education curriculum and a priority for this position. CTSOs extend teaching and learning through innovative programs, business and community partnerships and leadership experiences at the school, state, and national levels. The HOSA advisor will serve in a co-leader role at Northern Cass High School.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.

· Communicates and collaborates with colleagues, supervisors, and students in an appropriate format to express thoughts and ideas with integrity and appropriate digital citizenship.

· Applies critical thinking in the use of course standards, learning targets, and units of study to adjust to individual student needs, interests, and abilities to personalize learning experiences.

· Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students and presents opportunities for learners to develop, take risks, and revise ideas.

· Encourages students to set goals and maintain responsible behaviors while actively engaged in their learning for organization and perseverance.

· Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media to encourage creativity and enrich learning options, in school or during distance learning experiences.

· Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides opportunities for students to be reflective and take ownership in their learning by being empowered through choice and demonstration of understanding.

· Demonstrates compassion and understandings of the complexities of cultures and global issues to see viewpoints beyond their own to positively impact the learning environment.

· Is flexible to makes provision for students and parents for ‘education-related purposes’ to nurture resilience in or outside of the instructional day.

· Responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy.

· Collaborates with industries in the field seeking program input through and formal advisory committee meetings and classroom activities.

· Participates in career and technical education professional learning conferences or training to maintain credentials and relevant curriculum knowledge related to state standards, work-based learning, and career ready practices.

NORTHERN CASS SCHOOL DISTRICT IS SEEKING A BUS DRIVER FOR THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR AND BEYOND. BUS DRIVERS ARE PAID $27.00 PER HOUR FOR CDL / $26.50 FOR THE MINI BUS, AND ARE GUARANTEED FOUR HOURS PER DAY (A.M. AND P.M.). BUS DRIVERS CAN ALSO DRIVE FOR ACTIVITIES IF THEY CHOOSE AND ARE PAID THE SAME RATE FOR DRIVING. WE CAN ALSO BE FLEXIBLE WITH TIMES (ONLY A.M. OR P.M.) AS WE SIMPLY NEED TO INCREASE OUR AMOUNT OF HIGHLY QUALIFIED DRIVERS. WE WILL PAY FOR TESTING AND TIME TOWARDS PREPARING.
