SECONDARY SCIENCE EDUCATOR

SPEECH and LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Rural Cass Multi-District Special Education Unit and Northern Cass School District is seeking a Speech and Language Pathologist for the 2026-2027 school year and beyond.  Applicants must have a teaching degree from an accredited four year university and meet the requirements set by the Department of Public Instruction and North Dakota Education Standards and Practices Board.  Northern Cass is a progressive Class 'B' school with approximately 640 students in PK-12. The district is currently in the transition to a personalized learning environment in all grade levels.  Northern Cass was reorganized in 1997. The school is located on Highway 26 in the middle of the district not within one of the communities. It serves the communities of Argusville, Arthur, Hunter, Gardner, Grandin, and Erie. The district’s current open enrollment is 30% of the school’s population. Students have chosen Northern Cass from a variety of other districts including, but not limited to:  West Fargo, Fargo, Hope-Page, Mayville, Central Cass, and Hillsboro.

Applicants would need to facilitate IEP meetings and evaluation meetings, administer assessments to determine eligibility for special education. Provide direct, indirect and consultative services to students identified with communication needs. Applicants should have good written and verbal communication skills as well as be able to work as a productive team member in the special education process. 

Job Description:

  • Provides direct therapy individually, in small groups, or in the classroom, in an inclusionary setting for the remediation of language, articulation, voice and fluency disorders and communication disorders caused by hearing impairments for students in accordance with IEP goals and objectives.

  • Observes students in general education classrooms to determine student progress and needs.

  • Conducts selective screening activities to identify children who have communication disorders.

  • Performs screening and diagnosis of individual students as part of the assessment team.

  • Participates in the multidisciplinary assessment team, as an evaluator where appropriate, and inputs in the Integrated Written Assessment Report.

  • Prepares individual educational programs based upon diagnostic information of members of the student’s planning team.

  • Makes use of a variety of materials, equipment and teaching strategies in designing programs for each student.

  • Works with parents to further educational and therapy objectives.

  • Evaluates individual student progress.

  • Follows up on medical referrals and on students recently dismissed from therapy.

  • Works with other special and general educators in carrying out modifications and related aspects of student IEP’s.

  • Works with outside agencies, when appropriate, to ensure the best services for the student.

  • Provides additional supports, as time permits, to students not yet identified as eligible for special education.

  • Attends training sessions, seminars and workshops to acquire information and further professional skills.

BUS DRIVER

Northern Cass School District is seeking a Bus Driver for the 25-26 school year and beyond.

Bus drivers are paid $28.50 per hour for CDL and are guaranteed four hours per day (am and pm) as we simply need to increase our number of highly qualified drivers.
