Eligible students must be enrolled in or be entering a two-year technical program or a four-year college program and be in a construction-related field of study.

• There are no minimum or maximum selections for each college or technical school. Selection of the awardees is based on the criteria for eligibility regardless of college or technical school. Award amounts may vary from $500-$2,000 based on the scoring criteria.

Applicants are evaluated on the following criteria:

Academic Achievement

Community and school involvement

Relationship of the student’s field of study to the construction industry

Potential future impact of the student on the region’s construction community

Quality of the application

Completed applications must be accompanied by a school issued transcript to be considered. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

EACH YEAR, A $1,500 SCHOLARSHIP IS AWARDED TO FOUR APPLICANTS. Leonard and Donna Richards Scholarship - Northern Cass High School

Applicant must be a graduating of Northern Cass High School.

Have been accepted for Post-Secondary Education/Training in an accredited University, College, or Vocational/Technical School as a first-year student.

Preference will be given to a student planning to pursue an agricultural related course of study.

Have achieved a minimum of a 3.0 GPA cumulative while attending high school.

Have shown examples of leadership/community service volunteer experience.

1. Provide two letters of reference in support of your application.

2. Essay outlining your goals in life, as well as a plan of how you will better your community in the future (500-word essay, double-spaced, 12-point font)

American Legion Riders Scholarship

The District #8 American Legion Riders are offering up to ten scholarships of $1,000 each to North Dakota students. (The number of awarded scholarships will depend on the number of applications received)

Application deadline: April 30, 2020.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be a son, daughter, or spouse of a veteran and a North Dakota resident that is continuing their education beyond high school. The essay is a huge deciding factor on being awarded this scholarship

Polar Communications Scholarships - John G. Walters Scholarship and Polar's Leadership Scholarship

• Five $1,000 John G. Walters Scholarships will be issued to graduating high school seniors from our service area who plan to continue their education at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college/university or vocational-technical school.

• One $2,000 Polar Leadership Scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior or college freshman or sophomore who demonstrates exemplary leadership qualities.

    The applicant must meet all the following requirements:

    • Be a graduating senior from a North Dakota high school in 2020.

    ESAND (EDUCATIONAL SECRETARIES ASSOCIATION OF NORTH DAKOTA) EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

    ELIGIBILITY:

    The Applicant must:

    1. Be a High School Senior in ND;

    2. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0;

    3. Furnish a copy of transcript or official grade report for the previous fall semester;

    4. Include a list of extracurricular activities, community service and outside activities

    5. Be admitted/enrolled in an Education or Business degree at a 2 or 4-year institution of higher education;

    6. Furnish a letter requesting the $500 award;

    7. Submit a letter of recommendation from a school administrator, teacher or school secretary regarding their character
