Destination Imagination (DI) is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students' creativity, courage, and curiosity through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), fine arts, and service learning. Our participants learn patience, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. We prepare students for the careers of tomorrow - and we start as early as second grade!
Northern Cass DI is open to all students in grades 2-12. Teams of up to seven members participate at four levels: Elementary (grades 3-5), Middle (gr. 6-8), Secondary (gr. 9-12), and non-competitive Rising Stars (2nd grade). Each team needs a volunteer team manager to take the students through the process. Teams typically meet at school or in homes for 2-3 hours a week beginning in October through to the Affiliate Tournament on March 23, 2019.
We offer high-quality, STEAM-based (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) Challenges that help bridge the gap between what students learn in school and the skills they will need to thrive in an ever-changing economy.
